Walter N. Bacon

Walter N. Bacon 82, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Sharon A. (Ring) Bacon, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Colleen D’Aniello, and her husband James of Port Charlotte, Florida, Joseph Bacon, and his wife Kelly of Plainville, Mass, the late Thomas Bacon of Franklin, brother Len Bacon of Norfolk, sister-in-law Patricia Cahill of Milford, sister-in-law, Joan Lonowski of Grand Island, Nebraska, grandchildren James, Adam, David and Alan D’Aniello, Michaela, Chloe and Truman Bacon. Plus numerous nieces and nephews and four great grandchildren.

Walter was born in Milford, MA on January 9, 1944 a son of the late Joseph L. & Cecile (Champange) Bacon, he was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1962. He worked at Hostess-Wonderbread for 20 plus years and when he retired, joined Star Market/Shaws for 24 years.

A proud American he served as a specialist in the Army National Guard.

He was a consummate family man, he loved the outdoors and his main hobbies were fishing, cooking and making furniture.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday April 27th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Interment at the parish cemetery will be held privately.

Calling hours are Sunday April 26th from 2-5pm at the funeral home.
