Obituary

Violet M. (Hastings) Piere 86, of Franklin, died peacefully Easter Sunday April 8, 2012 at Norwood Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Levi J. Piere who died March 12, 2012.
Born May 4, 1925 in Foxboro, a daughter of the late Seth A. and Viloet V. (Groves) Hastings, she was a longtime resident of Franklin.
She was raised and educated in Foxboro, and until her retirement several years ago, she worked as a kitchen aide at the former Franklin House Health Care on Chestnut Street.
She enjoyed mysteries, watching television and playing bingo.
Violet is survived by a son, Lee J. Piere of Franklin, a sister Bernice Packard of Arizona, a step brother Noris Viewe and her grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Sandra Barnes and sister of the late Ralph and Norma.
Her funeral service and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin will be held privately.
