Obituary

Mrs. Shirley M. (Kennedy) Tate, 71, of 414 E. Central Street, died peacefully, Friday June 22, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of Raymond L. Tate, Sr.

Born in Franklin, August 9, 1935 a daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Barker) Kennedy, she was a lifelong town resident.

She was educated in Franklin public schools, and was a retired homemaker.

Her hobbies and interests included family, yard sales and reading, especially mysteries.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 50 years are 2 sons: Mark A. Tate of Franklin, Jeffrey R. Tate and his wife Karen of Taunton, a daughter: Catherine L. Vaillancourt and her husband David of Millbury. 2 brothers: John W. Kennedy of Franklin, Harvey Kennedy and his wife Terry of Pasadena, California, 5 adoring grandchildren: Adam, James and Kevin Tate of Taunton, Marissa and Brooke Vaillancourt of Millbury.

She was the mother of the late Raymond Tate, Jr., and the sister of the late: Francis, Alva and Fred Kennedy and Florence Cosch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com . Interment will follow in the family lot in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
