Obituary

Sheila Elizabeth (Doyle) McMahon, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, joining the love of her life in their eternal home.

Born in Jamaica Plain on May 17, 1941 to the late Dominick and Mary (Kelly) Doyle, Sheila is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Edward P. McMahon Jr., and her cherished siblings Amy, Mary (Purcell), Kevin, and Thomas.

As the family matriarch, Sheila is survived by her son Teddy McMahon and his wife Agatha (Vardoulias) of Narragansett, RI, and her daughter Sheila and her husband Joe LeBlanc of Franklin, MA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Alexa, Shannon (husband Hisham), Kiley, Coryrose, Joey, and Katie as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sheila personified grace and style, a true tastemaker who was always ahead of her time. Once her children were of school age, she worked professionally, ultimately retiring as a successful real estate agent in 2020. She was a relentless advocate for her family, especially her children. She made every holiday special for her grandchildren, surprising them on Halloween with fun costumes and taking them on their annual trip to the Boston Ballet's "Nutcracker" for Christmas. As a proud Nannie, she was the biggest cheerleader at their games, on a field or in a rink, along with bringing the biggest bouquet of flowers for their recitals, concerts and graduations. She loved to entertain and throw parties with her beloved Eddie, whom she cared for in his final years with Alzheimer's disease until 2021. She was a creative spirit and masterful homemaker, leaving a mark on everyone she met.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Monday February 3rd, in St. Jude Church 86 Main Street Norfolk at 10AM.

Her interment will be held privately.

Calling hours are Sunday February 2nd, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 2-4PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in loving memory of her husband Eddie.
