Ronald P. Dacko 82, of Franklin, died peacefully, Monday Sept. 24th, 2012 at the Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ruth J. (Lewis) Dacko who died in 1998.
Born in Boston, May 16, 1930 a son of the late Elias and Stella (Machria) Dacko, he was a longtime resident of Franklin, and previously lived in the Hyde Park section of Boston.
He was raised and educated in Hyde Park, and until his retirement he was the owner and operator of Esmond Terminals, a food storage facility in Mansfield.
He served his country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army.
Mr. Dacko enjoyed all sports, and was a former member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by 2 sons; Paul R. of California and Albert J. Dacko of Taunton, 5 daughters; Charlene Dacko of Bellingham, Maureen Phelan and her husband Wayne of Franklin, Pauline Dacko of North Attleboro, Christine Cogliano and her husband Richard of Bellingham and Kathleen Dacko of Mansfield.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Nicole, Steven, & Matthew Ormonde, Jessica, Elizabeth, & Catherine Phelan, Michael, & Erin Williams, Joseph Cogliano, and Tawney & Kenneth Dacko.
He was the father of the late Kenneth J. Dacko.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Wednesday Sept. 26th from 4-7PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com.
A private burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
