Obituary

Robert Lyle Ghegan, age 70, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at home with his family in Franklin. He was born on October 21, 1946 to Robert and Jeanne (West) Ghegan in Ashland, WI.

He was a 1964 graduate of St. Benedict's Preparatory School. From then on, Bob advanced in a career in employee benefits and retirement plan administration, earning accolades and advancements at Prudential, Fidelity Investments, and MetLife/GreatWest, specializing primarily in 401(k) recordkeeping and asset management. His positions introduced him to many brilliant collaborators and colleagues.

Following his tenure in finance, Bob "retired" to a part-time, "short-term" commitment at the Lake View Motel in Cooperstown, NY, caring for guests and sharing stories with visiting little league teams.

Bob's every day was filled with love, wit, trivia, reflection and the Red Sox, focused always on his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Bette; daughters Caitlin and Lindsey; sons Charlie and Michael; his brother John (of Florida). He is pre-deceased by his sister, Barbara Ghegan.

At Robert's request services will be held privately.
