BELLINGHAM—Richard E. Pleau 63, a longtime resident of Bellingham died Thursday May 25, 2006 at the Tufs-New England Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. He was the husband of Jean E. (Gibbons) Pleau.
Born in Boston June 13, 1942, he was raised and educated in Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School he later received his bachelor's degree from North Eastern University in Boston.
He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in September of 1964.
Until his retirement he worked as a computer engineer for various companies.
He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, traveling to Maine to visit the Fryeburg Fair and visiting New Hampshire but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was a member and communicant of St. Brendan's Church in Bellingham and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 41 years are 2 sons Scott E. Pleau of Greenwood, South Carolina and William R. Pleau of Attleboro a daughter Carol A. Pleau of Bellingham. Also surviving are his grandchildren Troy, Kylie and Charlotte Pleau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Friday June 2, 2006 at 10AM in St. Brendan's Church 382 Hartford Avenue, Bellingham.
Burial will be private.
There are no public calling hours.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory sent to the American Liver Foundation 246 Walnut St. Newton, MA 02160 would be appreciated.
