Obituary

Richard J. McManus 77, of Medway, passed away peacefully Friday January 19, 2024, at the Medway Country Manor, following an illness.

Born November 1, 1946, in Waltham, a son of the late Charles & Helen (Meehan) McManus, he was a former resident of Watertown until moving to Medway several years ago.

He was raised and educated in Watertown and until his retirement, worked as an auto detailer.

Richard was a Boston sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed following the Boston Bruins.

He is survived by his nieces & nephews, including, Michael J. Donovan of Franklin, Brian J. Donovan of Milford, Colleen M. Swenson and her husband Tommy of Franklin, Patricia A. Ballarino and her husband Mark of Franklin and William J. Donovan and his wife Deidre of Franklin.

He was the dear nephew of Esther Gately and her husband Jackie of Watertown.

Richard was the brother of the late Francis "Pudgie" McManus and Ellen Donovan.

Also surviving are 13 grand nieces & nephews.

A graveside service at St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown will be held at a later date.
