FRANKLIN—Raymond A. Anderson 55, of Franklin, died peacefully, Wednesday November 14, at his home surrounded by his family following an illness.
Born December 9, 1956 in Hartford, Connecticut a son of the late Arthur O. and Dorothy A. (Robillard) Anderson he was a resident of Franklin for the past ten years and was a former longtime resident of Ft. Myers, Florida.
He was raised and educated in Rhode Island and until his illness forced him to retire, he worked as a groundskeeper at numerous golf courses in Massachusetts and Florida. He was also a chef at the former Anvil restaurant in Wrentham.
He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps., during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Rifle Expert Badge, the National Defense Service Medal the Meritorious Service Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. While he was in the service he studied nuclear biological & chemical defense.
Raymond was proud of his American Indian heritage, was very artistic, & he enjoyed cooking, and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter Kerri Ruiz and her husband David and their children Daniel & Makenzie of Raleigh, North Carolina, his beloved partner Diana L. Bardsley of Franklin, and her children Jason and Shawn Landry, Matthew and Sarah Bardsley, a sister Yvonne M. Paul of Norfolk and her children Matthew & Renee. He was the former husband of Sharon (Meadows) Anderson of Framingham.
He was the brother of the late Daniel Ware.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Monday November 19th, from 4-7PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com.
A time of reflection and sharing of memories will be held at 7PM.
His interment with military honors will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
