Paul Louis Carbone of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026.

Paul was born on February 8, 1936, in Waltham, MA, to Antonio and Raffaella (Pesce) Carbone. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Aiken) Carbone; devoted brother to his late sister Jean (Carbone) DeMilia and husband Richard.

Paul grew up in Watertown, MA, graduating from Watertown High School in 1955. While there, he met the love of his life, Dolores Aiken. The two married in 1958 and shared a beautiful life together spanning more than 65 years.

Paul dedicated 47 years of his life to education and took great pride in helping so many, whether through teaching, mentoring, or his work with the Massachusetts Department of Education, where he developed and supported numerous educational programs.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for eight years, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-4), and was honorably discharged on September 26, 1961.

Above all else, Paul cherished time with his family. He especially enjoyed holiday gatherings, celebrations, and welcoming each new grandchildren and great-grandchild into the family. A passionate Boston sports fan, Paul remained a loyal supporter of the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots throughout his life.

Paul is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mark Banker of Oregon, Donna Carbone of Bellingham, MA, Terri Prairie of Franklin, MA, and sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Jeanne Carbone of Franklin, MA, and Scott Carbone of Maine, formerly married to Melanie Stanley, along with his 15 loving grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren (soon to be 15), his twin brother, Richard Carbone and his wife Lynne, extended family, and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral and visitation beginning 9am on Thursday, June 4th in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org 

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
