Norma E. Seaver

Norma Elizabeth (Frith) Seaver passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 17, 2026, in Medway, Massachusetts. She was born on October 11, 1934, in Revere, Massachusetts. She was 91 years old but always claimed to be “39 and some months”. She was formerly from Franklin and Carver.

She spent many summers of her youth in her father Harry’s native Bermuda and traveled with her parents to Nova Scotia for family vacations.

Norma graduated from Revere High School and then went on to graduate with her LPN from Pondville State Hospital School for Practical Nurses in May of 1955. Less than a week later she married David Seaver, whom she remained married to for 65 years until his death in 2020.

Norma worked in several hospitals and health care facilities over the years, but her absolute favorite job as a nurse was as the camp nurse for the boy scout camp, Camp Child in Manomet, a job she had for 17 summers. Many lasting friendships were made during her time there.

Norma was involved as both a Girl Scout leader and Den Mother when her children were involved in scouting. She was active in Fern Chapter #46 of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron with her husband as Worthy Patron in the early 1980’s. While living in Carver, she volunteered at voting polls. Norma never met a craft activity she didn’t like, and her home showcased this love. The Seaver family owned numerous feline pets over the years and Norma was fond of adopting strays in her neighborhood in Carver. She regularly attended church at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Millis and Church of the Good Shepherd in Wareham. There were many holidays spent in both the Franklin and Carver houses, with abundant Christmas presents, big Thanksgiving dinners and Easter egg hunts followed by group walks in the cranberry bogs near their home in Carver.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Seaver and sons David C. Seaver and Douglas R. Seaver. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy May and husband Donald of Milford, MA; and sons Raymond Seaver and companion Colleen Murphy of Wareham, MA and Paul Seaver of Franklin. Her grandchildren will miss their “Gramma”: Joseph Seaver of Milford, MA; Christian May of Ann Arbor, MI; Abby Murray of Franklin, MA; Tess May of Millis, MA and Leila Seaver of Franklin, MA. Norma was also the proud Great Grandmother to Josie and was awaiting the birth of a new great grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 1162 Highland Street, Holliston, MA. We will also be remembering our father David W. Seaver and brother David C. Seaver at this service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Norma, Dave, Davey & Doug. Burial will be private at a later date.
