Obituary

Neil J. "Jim" McInnis, 72, of 17021 Upriver Drive, N. Ft. Myers, Florida, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at his daughter's home on Winter Street in Franklin following a long illness. He was the husband of Geraldine C. (Rowen) McInnis.

Born in Boston, February 19, 1936, a son of the late Neil and Sara K. (Flynn) McInnis he lived in Franklin for most of his life until moving to Florida several years ago.

He was raised and educated in Boston, and until his retirement worked as a service technician for the Needham Oil Co. and the Kerrivan - Lane Oil Co. in Needham.

He was a former member of Mission Hill Knights of Columbus, and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed following the Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed travel and reading.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years are 4 sons: James M. of Bellingham, Warren B. of Plainville, Paul V. of Attleboro, William R. of Northbridge, 3 daughters: Barbara A. DeCosta, Gerra C. Strickley and Jody R. McInnis all of Franklin. 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was also the father of the late Scott C. Mcinnis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son, Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfunera.com. Interment is private.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1 - 2:00 PM.
