Obituary

Mary Clare Golden died peacefully, Friday, December 18, 2020 in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Mary was born in Elmira, N.Y. on November 30, 1946. She spent her childhood and youth in Sinclairville, N.Y. and Williamsville, N.Y. She graduated from the University of Buffalo. Her lifelong book industry career started at the Lockwood Memorial Library at the University of Buffalo. She continued her career at Boston's Harvard Coop, The University of Colorado Bookstore in Boulder, and in New York City at Barnes & Noble's main bookstore, in the corporate offices and other bookstores.

Her sons, Thomas C. Lundquist and Mark E. Lundquist, she would say were her greatest joy and achievement. Thomas's marriage to Lindsay Hayes and the birth of her granddaughters, Charlie and Nola Lundquist, would become the other great joy of her life.

She will be remembered for her incredible green thumb and love of gardening, her wonderful watercolor paintings, her lifelong friendships and love of family.
