Marjorie E. (Omand) Amato 86, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Monday March 15, 2021 at High Pointe House in Haverhill, following an illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley L. Amato, Sr., who passed in 2012 and the former wife of Joseph F. Ford Sr., who passed in 2004.
Born February 18, 1935 in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Edith (Spiller) Omand, she was a former longtime resident of Norwood before moving to Franklin.
Marjorie was raised and educated in New Hampshire and worked as a Registered Nurse. She worked many years at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston and at the Harrington House in Walpole.
She enjoyed going to the Franklin Senior Center, playing bingo, arts & crafts and was up to date on all the newest Apple Technology.
Marjorie also gave to numerous charities and sponsored a child from Indonesia.
Marjorie enjoyed staying active and loved to dance, especially at Moseley's Ballroom in Dedham.
Marjorie is survived by her children Joseph F. Ford Jr., Christopher J. Ford, Mark J. Ford, Celeste M. Kaptur, Marjorie E. Ford, Margaret G. Ford, brothers, Richard Omand, Arthur E. Omand, Jr and her grandchildren, Melissa K. Ford, Ian C. Ford and Neil R. Ford.
Due to Covid-19 services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Dana Farber Cancer Institute 450 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
