Marguerite Helen Mitchell went home to be with her Lord on August 2, 2025. She was born in Roxbury a neighborhood of Boston on November 20, 1933. Marguerite was proud of her Albanian Heritage and grew up in a family of faith and everlasting love.
In her early years Marguerite was a ballerina and experienced all styles of dance at the Gertrude Dolan Dance Studio in Roxbury and attended the Academie Moderne a finishing school in Boston. She was a cheerleader while attending Boston Christian High School in Boston, which is now Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington, MA.
Her journey with the Lord started at an early age and transcended throughout her entire life. Marguerite was a gift of God's love and grace to her family, and those who were embraced by her beautiful spirit and love for others.
She was a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years and loved being with the children all year round especially in the summer for Vacation Bible School. Sharing the Lord with the children was the essence of being who she was "Marguerite". She opened her heart for all those who were in need of love and grace. She was blessed to have the Lord walking side by side everyday of her life.
Marguerite married James William Mitchell her high school sweetheart and was blessed to have been married 71 years. They moved to Readville, MA when they were first married and then moved to Franklin, MA. They raised three daughters Linda, Kim and Jane. Marguerite cherished every precious moment with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband James William Mitchell, her daughter Linda Sergei and granddaughter Noel Sergei.
Marguerite leaves behind her sweet daughters Kim Ausmus and her husband Daniel Ausmus of Oxford, MA and Jane Mitchell Huston and her husband Stephen Huston of Franklin, MA.
A Private Christian burial service is under the direction of the Charles F. Oteri and Son, Franklin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marguerite's memory to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 63 Rockwood Road, P. O. Box 145, Norfolk, MA 02056.
