Mrs. Malfada "Maffie" (Pecci) D'Afile 90 a lifelong Franklin resident, and a longtime summer, resident of Pocasset, died Tuesday April 6, 2010 at Caritas Norwood Hospital, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Louis M. D'Afile, who died in 1997.
Born in Franklin, Aug. 19, 1919 a daughter of the late Martino and Richella (Pacella) Pecci, she was raised and educated in Franklin, and until retiring many years ago, worked for the Franklin Public Schools in the cafeteria dept.
She was a member of the Franklin Lodge Sons of Italy, and was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary's Church in Franklin. She also attended St. John's Church in Pocasset in the summer.
She is survived by a brother: Fred Pecci of Franklin, 2 sisters: Eleanor Smith of Milford, Angelina Bertoni of Franklin, and many generational nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Anthony and Artilio Pecci.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church Franklin at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
