Kevin Michael McMahon, 87, of Milford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2026, with his wife by his side.
Born on March 1, 1938, in Queens, New York, Kevin was the son of Patrick and Sarah McMahon. He lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, laughter, and deep devotion to his family. To know Kevin was to know a man of great character who was kind, genuine, honest, and always ready with a joke or a story that could fill a room with laughter. He had a way of making people feel comfortable, cared for, and welcomed, and his steady presence meant so much to all who loved him.
Kevin was the loving husband of Rose McMahon, and together they built a beautiful family that remained the center of his world. He was a proud and loving father to Linda McMahon, John McMahon and his wife Anmarie, Kathryn Hayward, Kevin McMahon and his wife Kelli, and Lauren Gilman and her husband Chuck. He was predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne McMahon, a loss he carried in his heart.
Nothing brought Kevin more pride or joy than his family. He was lovingly known as “Poppy” to his ten grandchildren, whom he adored beyond words: Maggie, Erin, MaryKate, Ainsley, Colton, Lilly, Dylan, Kennedy, Madison, and Zoey. Being their Poppy was one of the great joys of his life, and he loved each of them deeply. His love for his children and grandchildren was unwavering, and he took immense pride in all they did. He was also an adored uncle to so many, and the love, humor, and warmth he shared with his extended family will never be forgotten.
Kevin was also predeceased by his siblings, Francis McMahon and Patricia Byrne.
He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, and later built a successful career as a banker. He worked hard, led with integrity, and earned the respect of those around him through his honesty, dedication, and strong values.
Kevin enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the passions that brought him joy. He was a golf enthusiast, a loyal fan of the New York Giants and New York Mets, an avid reader, someone who enjoyed a good game of chess, and a man with a true love for coffee. More than anything, Kevin will be remembered for the way he made people feel. He was kind, genuine, honest, and quick with a joke. He had a way of bringing warmth, laughter, and comfort to those around him, and his presence made every room better.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2026, at the American Legion, 333 Buckshollow Road, Mahopac, New York, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Kevin will be missed more than words can say. His stories, his laughter, his affection, his pride in his family, and his kind heart will remain with all of us always. The love he gave so freely and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of his family forever.
