Kenneth P. "Flipper" Hayes 78, of Franklin, died peacefully, at his home, with family at his side Saturday December 29, 2018 following an illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita M. (Brooks) Hayes, who died in February.

Born September 24, 1940 in Boston, a son of the late John P. and Alice (Stag) Hayes, he was a Franklin resident since 1965.

He was raised in South Boston and was educated in Boston and Norwood schools. He was graduate of Norwood High School, and until his retirement several years ago, worked for as a bookbinder for Plimton Press. He also worked as a bartender for the Franklin Elks Lodge for over 30 years.

Kenny enjoyed playing golf, pool and darts and camping at Webster Lake.

He was a Life Member and Trustee of the Franklin lodge of Elks and a member of the Sons of Amvets.

He is survived by 2 sons, Kevin P. Hayes and Brian M. Hayes both of Franklin, a brother Donald Hayes of Cape Cod, 2 grandchildren, Christopher Paul Haywood Hayes, Kaitlin Hayes and 2 great grandchildren.

He also leaves a nephew Alan "Chip" St. Clair and his good friend Francis Salvatore Corso of Franklin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Monday Jan. 7th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. at 11AM. His interment will be held privately.

Calling hours are Sunday Jan. 6th, from 2-5PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the George Woods, Jr. Scholarship Golf Tournament c/o Franklin Elks Lodge #2136 1077 Pond St. Franklin, MA 02038.
