Obituary

Kenneth J. Assad 81, of Millis and a former longtime resident of Franklin, passed away, Wednesday February 16, 2022, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. (Weagle) Assad, who died in 2010.

He was born in Worcester, MA to Francis O. Assad and Marjorie M. (Perin) on April 17, 1940.

He is survived by his three children, Jane Borkowski and her husband Michael of Millis, Kenneth and his wife Mary of Franklin, and Brian and his wife Pia also of Franklin. He was the proud grandfather of Alicia and Alec (Borkowski), Kelsey, Adam, Amy, Nick and Jake. He was the beloved brother of Robert of Port St. Lucie, FL, sisters Diane (Laria) of Clermont, FL and Marilee (LaHair) of Worcester. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Ken was often seen in the stands, on the sidelines or by the ice cheering on his grandchildren while they competed in a variety of sports. In addition to being with his family, he loved golfing with his friends, lunches on Saturday at the Hoboken Club and spending time in Newport where he spent many days with his beloved wife relaxing by the ocean.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday February 23rd, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
