Obituary

Joseph D. McManus 95, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, at his home, Tuesday August 1, 2023 following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Marie R. (Rodrigues) McManus, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Born December 3, 1927, in Berkley, Rhode Island, a son of the late Alexander and Christina (Friewald) McManus, he was a resident of Franklin since 1978.

He was raised and educated in Pawtucket and was retired from Englehard Manufacturing in Plainville.

A proud American he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged following a 20 year career.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 grandchildren, Stacy Bunnell and Patrick Schepis, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their spouces.

He was the grandfather of the late Michael Bournazian and Steven Bunnell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Friday September 8th in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 7:00AM.

Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
