Obituary

John W. Macfarland 88, a longtime Franklin resident, died Saturday October 31, 2009 at the JML Care Center in Falmouth, following an extended period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Doris E. (Lavoie) Macfarland, who died in 2006.
Born in Sherborn, July 3, 1921 a son of the late Fred and Edith (Jackson) Macfarland, he lived in Franklin since 1962.
He was raised and educated in Sherborn, and was a retired licensed carpenter. Mr. Macfarland worked for the Wellesley Corporation and specialized in finish carpentry.
He was a member of the Alumni Association of Sherborn, and was a former member and usher at the Community Church of Medway.
He is survived by five daughters Linda LeGeyt of Pittsfield, Marcia Dove of Cape Coral, FL, Bonnie Coutu of Centerville, Janet Silloway of Westin, FL, and Jill Knicely of Norcross, GA. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday November 7th at 11AM at the family lot in Rural Cemetery Rt. 85 Southborough.
