Obituary

Jimmie E. Pollock ,77, died Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Hospital, where he was admitted on Monday. He was the husband of the late Dolores C. (Watson) Pollock, who died in 1997.
Born on Brooklyn, NY July 26, 1932, a son of the late James F. Elizabeth (Ambrey) Pollock, he lived in Franklin since 1999.
He was raised and educated in New York, and was a retired security officer having worked for as many years for the Burns Security Co. in NY.
He served in the US Army during the Koren conflict. He attained the rank of Pfc., and was awarded Korean Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, The United Nations Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a life member of the Ridgewood, NY VFW Post, and was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, and the AARP. Mr. Pollock was a familiar annual walker in the Franklin Memorial Day Parade.
He is survived by a son James E. Pollock of Bellingham, a brother Robert in NY, three sisters: Ann Bigwood of Bellingham, Theresa Burton of Alabama, Loretta Preston of Texas, two grandchildren Ryan and Jason Pollock, his longtime companion Marcelle Faria of Franklin, and his former daughter in law Nancy Pollock of Norfolk.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday from 3-6 p.m. in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St, www.franklinfuneral.com. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
Interment with full military honors will take place on Monday at 11:15 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
