Obituary

FRANKLIN—Janet J. "Jan" (Johnson) Newman 60, of Franklin, died Monday January 14, 2013 at her home following a nine year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey S. Newman.
Born December 15, 1952 in Owosso, Michigan a daughter of the late Colon S. and Clara A. (Skornicka) Johnson, she was raised and educated in Owosso and was a resident of Franklin for the past 33 years.
She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed staying at home to raise her children. Jan also worked as an administrative assistant for the Franklin School Department.
Jan was active in her church activities, treasured time spent with her family, cooking, gardening and traveling and was a longtime Girl Scout leader.
In addition to her husband of 34 years she is survived by her children, Eric S. Newman and his wife Shawna of Aliso Viejo, California, Nicole L. Newman of Lexington, Kentucky and Kristen R. Newman of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, & a brother David Johnson of Owosso, Michigan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday January 18th, at 10AM at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer 31 Hayward St. Franklin, MA 02038. Her interment will be held privately.
