Isabel A. (Dunleavy) Coyne 95, of Franklin, died peacefully, surrounded by loved one's, at her home, Monday December 28, 2020 following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard W. Coyne, who died in 1977.
Born June 28, 1925, in Millville, a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Powell) Dunleavy, she was a resident of Franklin since 1958.
She was educated in Milford and was a graduate of St. Mary's School. Isabel was retired from St. Mary's Church in Franklin where she worked for over 40 years first as a volunteer teacher and later serving as the director of religious education. One of her greatest joys was teaching children about the Catholic faith and enlisting others to teach as well.
A strong Irish Catholic, she was fiercely devoted to her family, children, and her many friends. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and witnessed many world championships. Isabel loved shopping, singing, Mickey Mouse, and donuts.
Isabel is survived by her children, Elizabeth A. "Liz" Bertoni of Franklin, Kathleen F. Varga and her husband Dan of Delaware, Michael F. Coyne and his wife Susan of Jacksonville, FL, Maureen E. Spencer and her husband Gary of Bellingham, Monica A. Coyne and her late fiancé Kevin Kenney of Milford.
Also surviving are her grandchildren Michael DeMeo, Kenneth Bertoni, Timothy DeMeo, Chelsy Zurich and Jeffrey Spencer and 7 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Robert P. Coyne, Howard W. Coyne, Jr, Patrick J. Coyne and sister of the late Jerry, Jack and Bud Dunleavy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Saturday Jan. 2nd in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11AM. You may view the funeral Mass by clicking

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
