FRANKLIN—Mrs. Helen C. (Proulx) Doherty-Genoa died Thursday June 1, 2006 at the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Doherty who died in 1965 and the late Louis A. Genoa who died in 2000.
Born in Franklin November 7, 1910 a daughter of the late Wilfred and Albina (Lamonthe ) Proulx, she was a lifelong resident of Franklin
Educated in Woonsocket and Franklin schools she worked as a charge attendant for the former Wrentham State School for many years and was also a fulltime homemaker.
Her pastimes included spending time with her children and her grandchildren and she always enjoyed going shopping with her daughters.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Franklin, the Franklin Senior Citizens and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She is survived by a son Edward J. Doherty and his wife Roberta of Franklin 2 daughters Charlotte J. Webber and her husband Francis of Franklin and Elaine J. Pacheco and her husband Ronald of Woonsocket.
Also surviving are her grandchildren Robert, James, and Steven Webber, Michael Doherty, Linda Getchell and Michelle Pacheco and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Edward and Leon Proulx and Eva Landry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday June 3, 2006 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home (www.franklinfuneral.com) 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary's 1 Church Sq. at 9AM. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday June 2, 2006 from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory sent to St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin, MA 02038 would be appreciated.
