W. WAREHAM: Guy D. "Spike-Pompy" Pomponio 49, of 38 Gault Rd. died Wednesday August 16, 2006 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, shortly after his arrival there.

Born in Boston, December 9, 1956 a son of Mary (Lavorante) Pomponio-Principessa of Franklin and the late Gaetano D. Pomponio, he was raised and educated in Franklin and was a 1974 graduate of Franklin High School. He lived in Franklin for most of his life before moving to Wareham about 2 years ago.

Mr. Pomponio was a self employed heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, and enjoyed gardening and motorcycles.

Surviving in addition to his mother are 2 sisters: Debey Shea of Franklin, and Paula Pomponio of New Hampshire. Nephews: Stephen F. Sloan II and David G.P. Sloan of Franklin, a niece: Amereeka J. Sloan of Franklin and several additional nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving companion Florence R. Robinson of W. Wareham.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday at 9:45 AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, at 10:30 AM . Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday from 2 – 6 PM. The Franklin Lodge of Elks will conduct a Lodge of Sorrows ritual service at the funeral home on Sunday at 5:00 PM.
