Obituary

Esther C. (D'Amelio) Pellegri 97, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday August 2, 2018 at the Medway Country Manor, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late George L. Pellegri, who died in 1987.

Born November 1, 1920 in Milford, a daughter of the late Peter and Angelina (Fontana) D'Amelio, she was a longtime Franklin resident.

She was raised in Franklin and following the death of her father when she was 11 years old, she had to leave school and stayed at home to help raise her brothers and sisters, while her mother went to work in a mill to support the family. Many years later she worked as a cafeteria worker at the Parmenter School, on Wachusett Street in Franklin.

Esther was devoted to her family and enjoyed Sunday dinners, shopping and playing Bingo.

She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald P. Pellegri and his wife Deborah of Franklin and George E. Pellegri and his wife Jane of Franklin and a brother Peter J. D'Amelio of Franklin.

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Paul Pellegri and sister of the late Josephine Brunelli, Mary Busso, Tony D'Amelio & Michael D'Amelio.

Relatives and friend are invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday August 8th, at 12 Noon in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St.

Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 10AM-12Noon.
