FOXBOROUGH—Ellen S. (Smith) Pepi 73, of Foxborough, died Monday July 16, 2012. She was the wife of the late Jerome S. Pepi who died in 2010.
Born August 18, 1938 in Boston a daughter of the late Henry F. & Rose A. (Kenney) Smith, she was a resident of Foxborough since 1992 and was a former resident of North Attleboro.
She was raised and educated in the Dorchester section of Boston, and attended the Massachusetts College of Art for painting and textile design. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and worked for a time as a legal secretary with a Boston law firm.
Ellen's creative artistic skills included illustrations for her high school year book, costume design for local theatrical productions, and her own art. She was an avid family genealogist, partnering with her husband Jerry.
She is survived by her children: Lorelei M. Pepi and her spouse Ann Torke of Providence, Rhode Island and Craig S. Pepi and his spouse Deborah Morse Pepi of North Port, Florida, a granddaughter Amanda Pepi, a sister Rosemarie (Smith) Abare and her spouse Norman of Winchendon, and a brother Leo Smith of Rockland, MA.
She is the sister of the late Henry F. Smith, Paul Smith and Dorothy Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday July 28th, at 12:15PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, MA www.oterifuneralhome.com. Her interment will be held privately.
Calling hours are Saturday from 10-12noon prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals "MSPCA" 350 South Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130.
