Douglas J. Maclachlan

Douglas J. Maclachlan, 69, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 14, 2026, following a battle with colon cancer. He was the beloved husband of Denise A. (DeBlois) Maclachlan for 45 years. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of the late James F. and Mary (Lawless) Maclachlan.

Doug graduated from Bryant College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked in financial management for ITT-Continental Baking Company and Coca-Cola before starting his own greeting card distributorship “MacGreetings!”.

Doug loved traveling, playing board games, and engaging in conversation with friends and family. He had a lifelong affinity for golf, starting as a caddie at Aspetuck Valley Country Club, and continuing with innumerable rounds at Blissful Meadows Golf Club, his favorite course. He also enjoyed hiking, often stopping to admire the serenity of babbling brooks. He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched.

Beside his beloved wife, Doug leaves a son, Ryan, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Debbie, Mark, Susan, Donna, and David.

Services were held privately with the family.
