Debra Cucinotta, 71, of Wrentham, MA, passed away peacefully on April 9, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 25, 1954 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Debra was the beloved wife of Domenic Cucinotta. She was a devoted mother to Shaun (Laura Hill), Melissa (Adam DoVale), and Lauren Cucinotta (Brie Karow). She was also a cherished grandmother to Kailee, Makenzie, Devin, Riley, Emma, and Nathan, and a proud great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren.
Debra is survived by her loving mother, Joan Sherman; her brother, John Sherman; her sister, Diane Sherman; and many other close family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, John Sherman, and her brother, David Sherman.
To know Deb was to know her laughter, warmth, strength, generosity, and resilience. She had a remarkable way of lighting up a room—always putting others first and bringing a smile to everyone she met. Her kindness never went unnoticed, and she would do absolutely anything for those she loved.
Deb found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially cooking and baking—something she continued to think about even in her final days. Above all, her greatest love was her family. She will forever be remembered for the deep and unconditional love she gave so freely.
We will honor her by celebrating her every day—by smiling often, dancing, and doing “The Twist,” one of her favorite songs. She loved deeply, and we were all fortunate enough to feel it.
You can honor Deb’s memory by sharing kindness with others and finding joy in everyday moments.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Thursday April 16th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 4:00-7:00PM.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 17th, at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, MA at 10:00AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org
Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Deb’s generous spirit.
Her love will live on in all who knew her.
