David Leavitt, 67, of Bellingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and his beloved dogs Abby and Wookie.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 25 years, Amanda; his son Adam Puopolo and Adam's partner Emily Foley; and his granddaughter Oakleigh of Dedham. He also leaves his mother, Patricia (LaBelle) Leavitt of Haverhill; his brother Steven and sister in law Sandy of Newton, New Hampshire ; his Sister Diane McDonald and her husband Dan of Haverhill, His brother Brian and sister in law Heidi of Haverhill , His Sister Brenda Andrews and her husband Glen of Derry NH, his Sister Donna Moquin and her Husband Bruce of Cocoa Fl , his brother Dan of Haverhill and his Brother in law John Ford . He also leaves many Aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
A graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational High School, Dave studied culinary arts and carried that passion for good food and good company throughout his life. He served his country in the United States Army and later settled in Milford, Massachusetts, where he worked for many years at Richards Restaurant, earning the respect of coworkers and patrons alike.
Dave was an active and dedicated member of the Bellingham Sportsman's Club. He served as club president and was honored twice as Sportsman of the Year, roles he took seriously while always making room for camaraderie and community service.
He loved spending time with family and friends, cheering on the New England Patriots, and sharing quiet moments at home with Abby and Wookie at his side. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, gentle humor, and the warmth he brought to gatherings large and small.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Saturday April 11th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. at 12 noon followed by a Prayer Service at 2PM.
His interment will be held at a later date.
