Obituary

MILFORD - Charlotte N. (Cox) Samsel, 89, of Milford, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.

She was the wife of Erven A. Samsel, who died in 1976.

Born in Holyoke, she was a daughter of the late Victor Cox and Leda (Lefebvre) Mann, and was raised and educated in Boston. She previously lived in Norfolk for many years before moving to Milford 23 years ago.

She was a retired homemaker who enjoyed cross country travel and arts and crafts.

She leaves three sons, Arthur R. Samsel of Norfolk, Erven A. Samsel of Canton, and Preston F. Samsel of Milford; two daughters, Charlotte D. Guisti of Bellingham, and Georgeanne M. Muise of Braintree; two sisters, Lorraine Coutu of Sharon and Dixie Donovan of Canton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Harold C. Samsel, formerly of Houston, Texas, sister of the late Evelyn Kazeta, June R. Mann, Harold Prefontaine and Leslie Mann, grandmother of the late Jill Guisti, and great-grandmother of the late Ralph Guisti.

Her funeral service will take place Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m., at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin.

Burial will be in the family lot in Norfolk Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
