Obituary

Barbara L. (Graves) Pidgeon 88, a Norfolk resident since 1941, died Saturday June 5, 2010 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Edwin W. Pidgeon, who died in 2008, and the late Douglas J. Brett, who died in 1969.
Born in Staten Island, New York July 17, 1921 a daughter of the late John P. and Ethel (Coates) Graves, she was educated in Boston, and until her retirement, worked as the bookkeeper in the family owned and operated milk company RD Brett & Son of Norfolk.
She was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed time spent with family and sewing.
She is survived by her son; Kenneth D. Brett and his wife Dora of Norfolk, a daughter Carolyn J. Strole and her husband Les of Geneseo, Ill., 2 granddaughters Cynthia A. Cravens and Sharon J. Neumann, and 4 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Cynthia L. Brett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday June 9th, at 10AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin www.franklinfuneral.com.
Interment will follow in the family lot in Union Street Cemetery.
